The redoubtable duo of Muchen and Shao Yinong team up yet again to produce a work of extraordinary texture, a pure tactile treat. This furniture repertoire is truly symphonic in range and scope. With spectacular effect, it departs from its traditional design base, transiting through the medium of the flannel toweling mantle in which it is indivisibly swaddled so that each piece transforms into an animal with a thick, rich pelt. Each of these luxuriant black beasts is a plushly upholstered conveyance upon which to embark upon dream voyages to the realm of Fäerie, where the Ogre Overlords sprawl on just such compliant critters as these, lulling their senses with thrice-distilled moonbeams. Snuggling into the caressing pelts of these ebony beasties, one is overcome by a delicious languor. A scent permeates the air, cinnamon and dark chocolate, with a suggestion of anise and dusky orchids drowsing while drowning in morning dew. Stroke the luxuriant contours and a frisson seems to tingle through the entire ensemble, and one then wonders if the occult powers of Muchen and Shao Yinong have not actually summoned these velvety varmints to life. These are not mere items of furniture: these are pets. Functional pets that never need feeding and that patiently wait to welcome the weary with warm embrace. They radiate a mood of tranquility and are a balm for the troubled and anxious. This set comes so loaded with TLC you can practically hear it purr. Muchen and Shao Yinong have broken new ground with these furry delights that take you along into a terrain beyond the range of normal human perception, where the senses dissolve in the sumptuous luxuriousness which is the hallmark of this ensemble.
How truly delightful it would be to incline on these shaggy shapes and enjoy an invigorating cocktail of pearls dissolved in vinegar, or whatever your tipple of choice is.
